Is there a sight in football that beats seeing Kenny Dalglish happy and smiling?

The images showing The King, arms aloft and right hand joined with Marina’s left, joyfully singing along to You’ll Never Walk Alone as the current crop swayed in front of the Kop, will sit with the best memories of clinching the title against Spurs last month.

Few LFC-things things make me beam like seeing him there, at Anfield or around the country and continent, grinning next to his old mates Rushy or Jocky while watching the Reds do the business.

You’ve done it yourself, I’m sure? We’ll be bossing a historic rival he’d battled over the decades and the camera will cut to Kenny, just lapping it up. You’ll point to the telly and shout “Go’ead Kenny! Come on!” with the same gusto as if Mo had curled another one onto the top corner.
